I installed the Mobee App on my iPhone the end of January. At first it was like a dream app to earn money. The very first week I earned $135 for a lot of driving around but only a few hours. Seemed like the perfect money maker. However, things went south.
The First Jobs
I must have hit the app at a good time because I found a bunch of jobs at a local drug store doing battery displays. I drove a distance but enjoyed the drive and was able to cover quite a few. The first use, there were four of the same jobs at different locations. It took a couple of hours driving around and scored a quick $40. Not bad for something that was kind of fun. Some of the instructions regarding the photos were a bit confusing but I did my best, submitted the jobs and wham, they were approved. Because of many complaints on the app page of rejected jobs, I was excited they were approved. The assumption on my part was the ones complaining were not doing things right.
The Next Set of Jobs: Speed Bump
The next set of jobs were the exact same jobs at more location. Great, they approved the first ones so I must have done them right. This is where it got a little messy. The jobs were completed in the same manner and I got the dreaded email stating I did not do the photos right so it was rejected. This was a total mind blower since they were the same.
Once I complained and they gave me the money because they said I was new and just learning. There was no response as to why the jobs were approved the first time with no issues. I was rejected for two more jobs that to me lacked clear instructions. It was around $8 loss plus time wasted. Since $135 was made the first week, I decided to keep the app but was annoyed.
The Positive Side of Mobee
The upside of the app is that it does pay. Mobee pays in gift cards like Amazon and Walmart for as little as 500 honey points or $5. If you would rather have a prepaid Visa card, that would be a minimum of $100.
Second positive is the app is easy to use and has a map to locate jobs. All you do is start the job before you enter the store and then follow the directions on the screen. Requirements for the shop such as photos are all done in the Mobee app.
Third positive is that Mobee offer many bonuses that add to the earnings. These include newbie bonuses, travelling bonuses, new location bonuses, and many others. Some of these are only twenty-five cents but they can add up.
Final positive is that Mobee pays quickly. With-in an hour payment was in my email after each cash out This is a great thing when many others make you wait for days.
Negative Side of Mobee
The fact that a job can not be accepted ahead of time is the biggest drawback. After arriving at the location of the store, one can accept the job. There is no chance to reserve the shop until you are within feet of the store. Anyone else using the app in the area could beat you to the job. If drive a distance like I do, this can be annoying. I have found jobs that disappear as soon as get to the location and once I get home, the job is back on the app. This caused me to use the app a lot less.
Second negative is that Mobee nit picks the jobs and can reject them for very little reason. Sometimes it is confusing what they want and there is no way to ask questions while doing the job. You do not see the job instructions until you accept the job.
Third negative is that it takes 48 hours or more for a job to be accepted once completed. If a there are multiple jobs for various locations, there is no instant feedback as a guideline to make sure you will not get rejected. The jobs can get crazy when you have to run back and forth between displays and if the display they want is not there. The alternative pictures can be harder than if the display was there.
Fourth negative is the amount of pictures that most shops require. If it is a store like Walmart, it is not a big deal to take multiple pictures. However, in a small store, it is difficult to take multiple pictures without drawing attention. Since the shopper can not identify that this is a mystery shop, the shopper looks shady taking so many pictures. I have seen jobs requiring 15-25 pictures and pays $1.50.
Fifth negative is that many of the jobs are very low pay for what they require. Sometimes you may have more than one job at the same location to make it worth the drive. However, with multiple jobs you have multiple photos and more questions to answer.
Final negative is that you can only do the job at the location on their map. If they have the GPS location wrong, the only way you can do the shop is to accept the job where the pin is and than go to the store and do the job. Since the jobs come and go so fast, this can cause you more wasted time and the possibility of missing the next job.
So Should You use Mobee?
If you are lucky enough to find a good set of jobs, Mobee can pay well. Making a couple hundred dollars a month is possible. I I still use it but now I do not go out of my way to drive to jobs. I just do them if I near the store and it is available.
Like stated earlier, my start was a profitable one but since that, the jobs have been sparse and the shops disappear quickly. The ones that stay require way more work than they are willing to pay. If you live in a more urban area, this app may be more profitable but will also offer even more completion.
You should at least try Mobee out. If you decide, please use my code 86Z7. If you do, we both get 300 honey points or $3 once you do your first shop. This is not my favorite mystery shop app but it is one I still use. The apps beat the old way of mystery shopping where you had to come home a write out a report. The app is available on Android and Apple ISO so it will work on all smart phones.
If you use the app, please come back a leave a comment or advice regarding the use of Mobee. Be sure to check back for more apps to earn money.
Peace Out!
